They call it falling for a reason, you know...
You get this sense of danger.
And an urge to back away
Because if you look too far ahead
You might slip
And hurt yourself
And maybe even people around you
With all repercussions in mind
You just want to see what lies over that edge
All the bumps and cracks
All the jagged edges and
All the safe spots where you could land...
But you can’t see those things
Unless you put yourself in an uncompromising position
Electricity in your head
Adrenaline in your veins
Ready to flee at a moment’s notice
Once you finally push yourself
To look over that edge
And ignore all the instincts
That your ancestors fought so hard to pass on...
You see the beauty in it.
All the curves and crevasses
The different colors and textures
All the little details that make it what it is
That make it different...
So you fall.
Hoping that someone might catch you.
